I just went for a drive to the Glass house mountains to-day on Easter Friday. The trafic was pretty bad but the weather was fantastic, well worth the trip.

There are many types of vegetation on and around the glass house mountains like. Eucalypt forests, woodlands, montane heathlands and shrublands. There are 26 plant species of conservation significance in the Glass house mountains.
The Glass house mountains national park is a home to many animal species. There are 11 frog species, 114 birds, 5 mammals and 11 reptiles. The are 9 of these species that are considered to be rare or threatened. The most common animals that you will see there are kookaburras, magpies, rainbow lorikeets, pale-headed rosellas, noisy minors, lace monitors (goannas), brush tail possums and black-striped wallabies.
